I have returned to McMurdo Station, Antarctica for a fourth season in the carpenter shop, or carp shop, as it is known here. My season started August 29 and goes till mid February. The weather on arrival was above 0, which is very warm for this time of year, usually it is at east 20 below. It will get up to a very comfortable 38 degrees in Dec. & Jan. There are over a thousand people working and living here supporting the United States National Science Foundation program.
